hi i'm irtaza

i am a software developer i write code mostly for the web. every time, i learn something new.

i love working on new ideas. my first real project was to help student find internships. the idea came to me while i was looking for one myself and realized how broken the system was. so i scraped those job boards myself, threw everything into a spreadsheet, and connected it to a website where students could filter and find internships based on their interests. it didn't last long i don't even have the domain anymore. but you can still read about it here and here

tldr; the project failed.

not because it wasn't solving a real problem, but because that space was already owned by giants. and i was too broke to spend anything on marketing. so i shut it down.

i went on with life and started my career. After an internship i joined a startup in its very early days. they needed engineers who could build a complex platform from scratch. i had no idea how to use aws at the time but i figured it out. serverless everything. i teamed up with a frontend dev and built the core product from the ground up.

it was a steep learning curve. i spent nights going through aws docs and weekends debugging things that broke for no reason. but it paid off. we developed the product and eventually, they asked me to join as a cofounder. i said yes. and honestly? it was one of the best learning experiences i've had.

right now, i'm working remotely for a startup based in bahrain. we're building a full school management system tailored for the saudi and bahraini markets. it's big. and super interesting. check out more on that here

on the side, i'm working on my second project during nights and weekends. if you're curious, you can read more about it here.
